Google Stadia officially launched last week and the hype was real. However, despite all the promises Google made, Stadia poorly works.
IGN, an American-based video game, and entertainment website tried Stadia for the first time and published a review on it. The review, in addition, showed how Google Stadia disastrously failed.
Stadia’s failure is not without any rational reason. Apart from the imperfect systems, the company’s reaction to the failure makes it even worse.

Google Stadia Founder’s Edition is Mildly Infuriating
While the company promised that it would ship the Founder’s Edition a long time ago, many people have yet to receive the shipments. Recent news even reported that Google just made the shipments several days ago.
That being said, many people also encountered difficulties when making the order at that time. Due to error, many orders were not processed, thus they failed horribly. However, Google lately fixed it by reopening the order for the Founder’s Edition.
The Graphic is Far From the Promised
While Google stated that Stadia will support 4K graphics, the reality does not say so. The 4K graphics appear to be a little enhancement of 1080p graphics.
In comparison to PC and modern consoles, Stadia delivered a far worse graphic. However, for mobile phone users, the difference in graphics is not crystal clear, making it only bad for smart TV users.
Latency Exists
The Cloud-gaming service shows an unbearable latency rate. Most first-time players found out that there exists a significant gap in time for the game to react after the player pressed the button.
While this might sound kind of normal for average streaming services, this leads to a problematic issue in the context of gaming. A game should be responsive, yet Stadia fails to execute it at its first launch.
The Stream Consumes a Ridiculous Amount of Data
Google Stadia’s streaming service consumes a ridiculous amount of data, making it seemingly impossible to play for a long duration. During the IGN’s test, the consumed data went from 6.2 GB in 30 minutes to 9.53 GB after an hour.
IGN, afterward, compared Stadia streaming to streaming a 4K movie. The result might suggest that Stadia consumes a similar amount of data, if not higher.
Google’s Vision amid the Disappointment
Despite everything, Google still believes that the product promises a bright future. On the same occasion, the company also said that it was proud of the launch of Stadia.
“To think that we, yesterday, launched in 14 countries and we have our founders now playing games on the service in their homes, and reporting back to us on their experience, is the most gratifying thing I’ve done in my professional career,” said Jack Buser, Stadia’s director of games.
