United States President Donald Trump has conveyed his prayers and final messages for the people and new government under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Trump made the point in a speech at the Joint Base Andrews military base after leaving the White House.
“I will continue to fight for you. I will continue to watch. I will continue to hear. And I say that the future of this country has never been better,” Trump said in his final speech as president, Wednesday (20/1) as quoted by CNN. .
He admits that he believes his country will succeed in the hands of the new government. He repeatedly stated that the US is a great country and that he was very fortunate to be president.
“I want to say, you are great people. This is a great country. It is an honor and privilege for me to be your president,” he told reporters and supporters.
“I wish the new government good luck and success. I think they will be successful. They have the basis for doing that,” he said.
Trump said his party had done its best to lead the US to a position it had not felt since 1917. For this reason, he believed that in the future the country would succeed.
While saying goodbye, he also promised to come back again. However, he did not state exactly what the statement meant.
“Goodbye, we love you, we will come back in another form,” said Trump.
Trump’s farewell messages and greetings were delivered hours before Biden-Harris was sworn in as US president and vice president. Contrary to popular tradition, he would neither welcome his rivals to the White House nor attend the inauguration.
